Public Hearing - Small Scale Amendment

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of West Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, has called for Public Hearing(s) to be held as follows:

West Melbourne Planning and Zoning Board, December 6, 2022, 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the City Council Chambers, 2285 Minton Road West Melbourne, Florida. This meeting may include the attendance of one (1) or more members of the West Melbourne City Council who may or may not participate in the Board discussions held at this public meeting. 

West Melbourne City Council, December 13, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Council Chamber located at 2285 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida.  The City Council will take public comment, the Planning and Zoning Board’s recommendation and consider the following:

A request for small scale comprehensive plan amendment, (SSA) to change the land use designation on 19.71 acres of property located west of St. Johns Heritage Parkway and south of U.S. 192 and east of Simon Road from Brevard County Community Commercial (CC) and Neighborhood Commercial (NC) to City of West Melbourne Parkway Interchange (PI) and to consider rezoning from Brevard County BU-2 (Retail, Warehousing and Wholesale Commercial) and AU (Agricultural Residential) to City of West Melbourne GTWY-I (Gateway Interchange), on property more particularly described as follows: 

The North 1/2 of Lots 7 and 8, Florida Indian River Land Company, a subdivision according to the Plat thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 2, at Page 80, Public Records of Brevard County, Florida, being a part of Section 3, Township 28 South, Range 36 East, Brevard County, Florida. Contains 19.71 acres, more or less. 

In conjunction with the above requests for the above described subject property, a request to include this parcel in the Space Coast Town Center Master Plan

A request for a small scale comprehensive plan amendment, (SSA) to change the land use designation on 16.445 acres of property located east of Interstate 95 and north of U.S. 192 and on the west side of Coastal Lane from Urban Density Residential (UD-RES) and Institutional (INST) to Industrial (IND) and to consider a rezoning from Multiple-Family Dwelling, (R-3) and Institutional, (P-1) to Light Industrial and Warehousing (M-1), and a Development Agreement on property more particularly described as follows:

The Planning and Zoning Board will take public comment, consider the items, and make a recommendation to the City Council. 

The proposed comprehensive map amendments and rezonings are available for public inspection at City Hall, 2240 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida. All persons wishing to be heard should appear in person at these hearings or send written comments to the City Clerk.  All persons and parties are hereby advised that if they should decide to appeal any decision made by the City with respect to any matter considered at the public meeting or hearing described in this notice, they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, said person or party may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (Chapter 286, Florida Statutes).   In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), anyone who needs a special accommodation for this meeting should contact the City Clerk at (321) 837-7774 at least 48 hours in advance of this meeting. The public hearing may be continued to a time and date certain by announcement at this scheduled hearing without any further published notice.
