NOTICE is hereby given that the City of West Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, has called for Public Hearing(s) to be held as follows:
West Melbourne Planning and Zoning Board, August 11, 2021, 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the City Council Chambers, 2285 Minton Road West Melbourne, Florida. This meeting may include the attendance of one (1) or more members of the West Melbourne City Council who may or may not participate in the Board discussions held at this public meeting.
West Melbourne City Council, August 17, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Council Chamber located at 2285 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida. The City Council will take public comment, the Planning and Zoning Board’s recommendation and consider the following:
A request for small scale comprehensive plan amendment, (SSA) to change the land use on property located on the east side of Columbia Lane from Brevard County CC, (Community Commercial) to City of West Melbourne IND (Industrial) and to consider rezoning from Brevard County TU-2, (Transient Tourist Commercial) to City of West Melbourne M-1 (Light Industrial and Warehousing), on property more particularly described as follows:
THAT PORTION OF LOT 30, SECTION 3, TOWNSHIP 28 SOUTH, RANGE 36 EAST, FLORIDA INDIAN RIVER LAND COMPANY SUBDIVISION, LYING EAST OF COLUMBIA LANE, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF, AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 2, PAGE 80, PUBLIC RECORDS OF BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA. LESS AND EXCEPT ROAD RIGHT OF WAY.
The Planning and Zoning Board will take public comment, consider the items, and make a recommendation to the City Council.
The proposed ordinance(s) are available for public inspection at City Hall, 2240 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida. All persons wishing to be heard should appear in person at these hearings or send written comments to the City Clerk. All persons and parties are hereby advised that if they should decide to appeal any decision made by the City with respect to any matter considered at the public meeting or hearing described in this notice, they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, said person or party may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (Chapter 286, Florida Statutes).
