Sylvan Drive Septic to Sewer Project
Sylvan Drive Septic to Sewer Project

The City of West Melbourne engaged the local civil engineering firm Infrastructure Solution Services to prepare recommendations for converting the neighborhood from individual septic tanks to the City's sewer system in the Sylvan Drive subdivision.  A meeting was held with citizens from the neighborhood on July 31, 2018, to explain the process and gather information from residents.  A copy of the engineers’ slide presentation from the meeting may be viewed by clicking on this link Presentation 07/31/18.

A form for homeowners' consideration was handed out that would give the engineers an indication of the location of your septic tank(s) and that would show homeowner support for a proposed grant application.  Homeowners in support of the proposed project are encouraged to return the form to the City by September 1, 2018.  A copy of the form may be found at this link Septic Tank Location and Project Support Form.

As of August 20, 2018, the City has received support letters from thirty homeowners.  We continue to ask that those homeowners who have not yet returned their septic tank location and project support form to do so such that we can maximize the points in our February 2019 grant application to the St. Johns River Water Management District that could fund up to 25% of the construction cost of the project.
