Staff Report - Proposed Utility Rate Changes - UPDATED
The City Manager recommends that the City Council, after considering public testimony at the noticed public hearing: adopt (second reading) Ordinance No. 2010-20 reducing water and sewer deposits, increasing water turn on charges, establishing a new discounted seasonal water and sewer rate for customers who voluntarily elect to put their account into an inactive status rather than close their account for the season, reducing water service charges, increasing water consumption rates and establishing a new water consumption charge block rate structure to pay for increased water purchase costs from the City of Melbourne, and unbundling sewer rates at no net cost change for most sewer customers and a decrease for some sewer customers.
